The South Rwenzori Diocesan Emblem

The South Rwenzori Diocese emblem is composed of images representative of the diocese, starting at the top:
  • The equatorial sun,
  • The Rwenzori Mountains,
  • The cross of Jesus Christ,
  • The Bible representing Christ, who is the Word of God,
  • Horns, symbolising the many cattle of the area,
  • Coffee leaves on the left, and cotton leaves on the right, representing the two largest crops grown in this area,
  • The anchor and chain symbolise the fact that the people of South Rwenzori are anchored to Christ,
  • The red on the anchor symbolises the redeeming blood shed on the cross by Christ,
  • The water symbolises the two large lakes in the diocese: Lake Edward and Lake George.
